Warren and Victoria Taylor of Snowville Creamery are at it again. They continue to ask me to hand paint images that they can use to advertise in the Edible Columbus magazines. I am greatly appreciative! I love to paint. I don’t get to many chances to paint for work, living in the mostly graphic design world. So when they ask me to paint I get super excited! Exciting news from KM Studio and Jackie O’s! Jackie O’s Brewery and Tap Room will be hosting a month-long art show featuring ALL of the Halloween in Athens designs by Kevin Morgan, starting at the OPENING on OCTOBER 25th!

That’s right, the Opening is already coming up NEXT SUNDAY (10/25/15) and is going to be a fun, spooky event! Music, art, and Jackie O’s brews… What could be a better combination? Oh, maybe if you threw in a little COSTUME PARTY into the mix?! Hell yeah.

Posters will be available for purchase, and Kevin & family will be there from at least 5pm-9pm. Come see us!

One of our favorite clients is Space, from Space Cadet Soaps. She is truly a beautiful person. You will not find more kind, roots righteous people than Space her husband Smiles and their three boys Simon, Eli and Forest. That’s why KMS had to come up with just the right logo for Space’s business venture Space Cadet Soaps. We think this logo sums up the essence of Space. We hope you enjoy it too.

KMS has been doing the artwork for the Paw Paw Festival ever since its inception. The 16th Annual Ohio Pawpaw Festival will take place September 12-14, 2014. KMS hopes you can come out to join the crowds of happy folks at scenic Lake Snowden in Albany, Ohio for 3 days of Pawpaw music, food, contests, art, history, education, sustainable living workshops and activities for the kids! Fifth Element Spirits (formerly Dancing Tree Distillery) in Shade, Ohio is a craft distillery creating vodka, gin, & specialty spirits with non-GMO and organic ingredients grown locally in southeast Ohio.

They re-branded themselves as Fifth Element Spirits (FES) because of legal issues with another distilery. KMS did their original logo, so FES asked Kevin to keep the initial unicorn and monkey but incorporate something that would represent the change. Here’s what he came up with.

–Mid West Reggaefest, in it’s 23rd year, Kevin has designed the poster and merchandise since it’s conception. Promoter Packy Malley says the New Location this Year, Clays Park in North Lawrence Ohio, is going to prove to be the best ever for this long-running, Ohio’s largest Reggae Festival….

The 10th Annual Ohio Brew Week begins today! A week long celebration of the local micro-breweries in the state of Ohio. Lots of fun and lots beer! KMS did the poster art for the event. Check it out!

Kevin was approached by the Athens County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau to update the logo for the Athens Tourism Bureau. He wanted to keep the logo simple and inviting, so he used bright colors, flowing lines and a “sunburst e” to grab your attention and keep you focused on the word “Athens”. Reaction to the new logo has been fantastic. Check out their Facebook page to see the logo in action.

Dark Star Orchestra’s Spring Tour East 2014 launches May 15th at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, NJ and will flow into Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre for the weekend of May 16-17. They’ll truck on down to Baltimore and Harrisburg before kicking off festival season by hosting our annual gathering, the Dark Star Jubilee at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio, May 23-25!

Wes Wilson, the father of the 1960s rock concert poster, paid a visit to the Fur Peace Ranch to give a presentation and sign some prints as part of a sponsored event by the Psylodelic Gallery. The special event was celebrated with a show by legendary guitarists Jerry Miller and Terry Haggerty. Kevin did the poster art (below) to help commemorate the special occasion.

Bird Watchers Digest asked KMS to help update the masthead logo of their magazine. They liked the subtle changes Kevin made without changing the brand completely. They were so impressed that they asked Kevin if he could do some artwork for their Annual American Birding Expo held in Columbus, Ohio. Below is the poster artwork they are using to promote the 2015 event.

BWD announced a new series of events called Reader Rendezvous, that allows BWD subscribers to meet some of BWD’s most popular contributors and go birding with them in some of their favorite spots. Kevin did the promotional artwork (below) for the new program.

Mountain View Farms, Christie Huger from Virginia toured our Local Food Network AceNet, fell in love with the labels KMS had designed and hired us to develop a logo and label for their Mountain View Farm Products, depicting a view of their farm. Lot’s of delicious farm goodies you can buy online at www.mountainviewfarmproducts.com, and… it’s all the real McCoy….

Compadre Phil Alloy hired Kevin to design the Major Taylor jersey for the National Brotherhood of Cyclists annual conference in Columbus, Ohio July 31-August 4th. Kevin also does the GOBA (Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure) for Alloy Cycling Wear. Taylor was the first African-American athlete to achieve the level of world champion and only the second black man to win a world championship—after Canadian boxer George Dixon.
